Recipes Blondie’s Grandma’s Homemade Shortcakes

  1. 2 cup flour
  2. 1 tbsp baking powder
  3. 4 tbsp sugar
  4. 3/4 tsp salt
  5. 1 egg
  6. 1/2 cup milk
  7. 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  1. Preheat the oven in order to 450°F.

  2. Combine dry ingredients.

  3. Using a pastry blender or 2 knives, slice shortening into dry mixture till mixture resembles a coarse food.

  4. Within a separate bowl, beat egg cell with milk.

  5. Pour into flour combination and stir until all components are thoroughly moistened.

  6. Drop about one-half cup of dough into mounds on a lightly greased cooking sheet.

  7. Bake 12 to 15 moments or until golden brown.

  8. *My Grandmother served this with fresh strawberries and cream, but you may use other berries as nicely. *
