Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups self-raising flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 mug coarsely grated cheddar
  • 1 bunch chopped fresh chives
  • 1/4 cups buttermilk
  • 1 egg cell

Method

  • Stage 1

    Preheat stove to 180�C. Combine self-raising flour, baking powder, grated cheddar and fresh chives in a bowl.

  • Step 2 Make a well in the centre. Add buttermilk and egg cell. Season. Blend until dough just comes together.
  • Stage 3

    Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead until just smooth. Shape in to a disc. Place on a covered tray. Flatten slightly and score in to six wedges. Sprinkle with flour.

  • Step 4 Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden. Set aside for 5 minutes to rest.
