  1. 150 grams pearl barley
  2. 1 fresh lemon or lemon juice
  3. honey
  4. 1 small piece of ginger
  5. 3 cup water
  6. 1 favorite juice (optional)

  1. Wash plus soak the barley within 1 cup of hard boiled water for 4-6 hrs or overnight. It assists to cook faster.

  2. ~Add 2 cups associated with water and let this boil in medium lower heat for about 10 to 15 minutes. ~Add a little piece of ginger. ~Cook till the barley is usually soft and mushy. ~Once its cooked, let this cool, strain and put the fresh juice of lemons plus honey.

I want adding more lemon fruit juice plus some ice cubes in order to beat the summer warmth. ~store the rest associated with the barley water within a tight water container and refrigerate. Stays new upto 2 days. ~The left over cooked barley can be used in order to make salads, risotto or even in stew. I sauté it with shallots plus butter. Yummm!
