Recipes Ham With White Beans

  1. 1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
  2. 1/2 tsp sugar
  3. you tbsp granulated garlic talc
  4. 1 tbsp onion talc
  5. 1/4 tsp baking coke
  6. 1/2 tsp pepper
  7. a single cup leftover ham, cut in small pieces
  8. 1 left over ham bone
  9. 1/2 lb white beans (like navy beans, upper, or pea)

Recipes Ham With White Beans

  1. Rinse and clean the beans.

  2. This recipe doesn’t call with regard to soaking the beans, but feel free to do so if that will be your preferred method, which will reduce the cooking time by 45 moments or so.

  3. Place beans in a pot with the ham bone and cover with water (6 cups or so).

  4. Add the baking soda, pepper, sugar, garlic clove and onion.

  5. Cook over medium heat.

  6. Partially protect the pot with a lid or use a lid with vents.

  7. Cook for 1 hour.

  8. Add the ham (if presently there was ham on the bone you can remove it now and chop it up, and put the bone back in the pot) and cook for 30 minutes.

  9. Taste and add salt if desired.

  10. Cook for another 30 minutes or until the beans are tender.

  11. Stir occasionally.

  12. If the beans start getting dry, add very hot water to the pot.

  13. You want a bit of solid liquid left with the beans when done.

  14. Remove the ham bone before serving.
