Recipes Honey Balsamic Brussels Sprouts

  1. 1 lb fresh brussels sprouts
  2. 1 tbsp olive oil
  3. 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  4. 1 tsp sea salt
  5. 1/4 tsp black pepper
  6. 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  7. 1-2 teaspoon honey (depends upon how sweet you want)
  8. 1/4 teaspoon crushed reddish pepper flakes

Recipes Honey Balsamic Brussels Sprouts

  1. Trim the dry tips off the particular brussels sprouts stems and cut brussels sprouts in half, careful not in order to cut too much from the stems thus the halves stay intact. Put in place colander, rinse under cold running water. Move colander to drain as much drinking water as you can.

  2. Place a moderate, deep sided nonstick saute pan more than medium heat. Add olive oil, butter, brussels sprouts, salt and pepper. Throw out or stir to coat evenly till butter is melted.

  3. Saute over medium heat, only stirring from time to time, until some of the brussels sprouts begin to brown lightly. About 5 mins.

  4. Reduce heat to moderate low, cover and allow to steam until just fork tender, stirring from time to time. About 10-15 minutes more.

  5. When fork tender, uncover, increase temperature to medium once more. Add balsamic vinegar, honey and crushed red self defense flakes. Stir or toss gently in order to coat. Saute until balsamic vinegar provides reduced and honey begins to caramelize developing a nice glaze on the Brussels sprouts. About 5 minutes more.

  6. Taste and adjust seasoning since desired before serving. Enjoy!
