Recipes Half-fried Tofu (MENDOAN TAHU)

  1. 2 bags tofu (typically 1 package, contains 4-5 pieces), cut to style
  2. 100 gr flour
  3. seventy five gr rice flour
  4. 0.5 tbsp sago flour
  5. three or more scallions, thinly sliced
  6. two red chili peppers, thinly sliced
  7. 1 green chili peppers, thinly sliced
  8. 3 pcs cabbage, thinly sliced
  9. 1 tsp bouillon powder (flavor beef/chicken, according to taste)
  10. 300 ml water
  11. to taste Salt
  12. Oil for frying
  13. GROUND SPICES
  14. 3 cloves garlic
  15. 1 thumb turmeric, toasted
  16. 2 pcs candlenut
  17. 1 tsp coriander
  18. SAUCE
  19. 3 tbsp chili sauce
  20. 2 tsp sweet soy sauce
  21. a few cayenne peppers (to taste), thinly sliced
  22. 3/4 tsp chili powder

  1. Mix all sauce ingredients and set aside.

  2. Mix flour, rice flour and sago flour. Add the red peppers, green peppers, scallions and cabbage.

  3. Add the ground spices, bouillon powder and salt. Add water little by little into the batter, until the batter is thick or slightly diluted.

  4. Dip the tofu in batter, and fry briefly with the high heat of the fire. Remove and drain.

  5. Serve mendoan tofu with sauce, ready to accompany a relaxing time.
