  1. for vanilla whoppie cakes
  2. 2/3 glass buttermilk
  3. 1 cup granulated sugar
  4. 4 large egg yolks
  5. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  6. 2 tsp baking powder
  7. 2 cup all-purpose flour
  8. 1/4 tsp salt
  9. 4 oz unsalted butter, at room temperature
  10. red food color, gel or even liquid
  11. blue food shade, gel or liquid
  12. 6 tbsp unsalted butter, at room temp
  13. STRAWBERRy CREAM FILLING
  14. several oz jar of marshmallow fluff
  15. 1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar
  16. 1/8 teaspoon sodium
  17. 1/3 cup good top quality strawberry jam
  18. garnish
  19. .5 cup red, white in addition to blue sprinkles

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper

  2. Whisk flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl, set aside

  3. Beat butter,, sugar and egg yolks togetherl until creamy, add vanilla and buttermilk. Add the flour mixture and blend well

  4. Remove half of dough to another bowl

  5. Color one bowl of batter blue with the blue food color. Color the other red with the red food volor

  6. Drop by 2 tablespoon fulls 2 inches apart on prepares pans. Smooth tops a bit

  7. Bake until they spring back when touched 10 to 12 minutes. Cool on rack in pan 5 minutes then transfer to racks to cool completely

  8. MAKE STRAWBERRY CREAM FILLING

  9. Beat butter until smooth, add remaining ingredients and beat until creamy

  10. Sandwich strawberry cream between one blue and one red cake

  11. To finish whoppie pies, Spread sprinkles on a plate

  12. Roll edges of filled whoppie pies in sprinkles to coat egdes
